DO I HAVE TO TAKE MY EXAMS AT MONTPELLIER MANAGEMENT?

From “Licence 1” to “Master 1”, you’ll have to travel to Montpellier twice during the academic year for one week’s worth of exams.
The “Master 2” is entirely based on continuous assessment, except if you have to re-take the exam, which will take place over one week at the end of June.

The calendar and schedule of exams are communicated in November via the teaching platform.

HOW DO I GET MY DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT?

For transcripts and certificates of achievement :

You can edit your transcripts via ENT. Certificates of achievement are issued by the Scolarité department at the end of the academic year. Students will receive their certificates of achievement in July, or can collect them from the administrator’s office.

The mailing address will be the address given by the student on his/her administrative registration form.

Please note: always keep the original documents in your possession and provide only photocopies as attachments to any application or scholarship request.

Please click on this link to send or collect your diplomas.

Diplomas take several months to be validated, checked and signed.

Reminder: there is no M1 diploma. The intermediate Master diploma is awarded in the 4th year.

It is not possible to have your diploma withdrawn by a third party, even if they are a member of your family.

WHAT IF MY EXAM DATES OVERLAP IN A DOUBLE DEGREE COURSE?

You can choose :

  • Not to take all your exams in session 1 and to take all your exams in session 2 (semesters 1 and 2). However, this reduces your chances of passing.
  • Pass only a few subjects in semesters 1 and 2 and sit the remaining exams in session 2.

IF I'M REPEATING A YEAR AND I ALREADY HAVE MY COURSES, DO I HAVE TO REGISTER AGAIN?

If you are repeating a year, you will not be obliged to re-register with the CNED for all the UEs, but registration with the University of Montpellier is mandatory in order to take the exams.

I'M REPEATING A YEAR, DO I STILL HAVE TO RETAKE THE EXAMS FOR THE UE I'VE ALREADY OBTAINED?

No. A passed UE is validated once and for all. You will only have to retake subjects that have not been validated.

The same applies to semesters: a validated semester, i.e. one with a mark of 10 or more, is definitively validated even if a subject or UE making up the semester is not validated.

HOW DO I FIND ACCOMMODATION FOR MY EXAM PERIOD?

Most students communicate on this subject on the platform’s discussion forums, to carpool or share a hotel room. It’s a great way to reduce travel costs in Montpellier.

INTERNSHIPS / CONTINUOUS TRAINING

CAN MY COMPANY FINANCE MY TRAINING?

Yes, you can. Please contact the CNED Continuing Education Department in Lyon to obtain a quote. Please note that rates are different when you are financed by an organization (OPCO, Pôle emploi).

Click here to see the rates.

WHEN SHOULD I DO MY INTERNSHIP?

Internships are mandatory from Licence 2 to Master 2.Internships cannot begin before December 1 for all courses.
Duration of internships: Minimum 308 H (2 months) and maximum 924 H (6 months)

  • L1 to M1: 308 H minimum
  • M2: 616 H minimum

308 H : no gratification – Beyond that, so from the 309th hour, the company must pay the trainee. Please note that the internship period cannot extend beyond August 31st.

Calculation of internship duration :

  • 1 day of internship = 7H; 1 month of internship = 22 days therefore 1 month of internship = 154H
  • 2 months internship = 44 days X 7 hours = 308H

Internship duration is calculated on the basis of the intern’s actual presence at the company, not on the basis of calendar dates (from date to date).

The submission of an internship report for Licences and a dissertation for M1 and M2 is mandatory.

This report may not be submitted before the trainee has completed the mandatory minimum duration of the internship on the date set for submission of the report or dissertation in session 1 or session 2 (308 H from L2 to M1 and 616 H for M2).

E.g.: report or dissertation due May 24th, the trainee must have completed 308 hours before May 24th for the dissertation to be taken into account for session 1. If the trainee has not completed 308 hours before May 24th, the report or dissertation will be taken into account for session 2.

The internship can continue beyond the deliberations. The M2 thesis defense is mandaotry and can take place either by Skype or in person in Montpellier.

CAN THE INTERNSHIP LAST LONGER THAN 6 MONTHS?

No, the maximum duration is 6 months, i.e. 924 hours.

CAN I SPLIT MY INTERNSHIP?

Yes, if the total duration is equivalent to the mandatory duration and the internship is carried out within the same company. You can’t do a one-month internship in one company and another month in another.

I WORK FULL-TIME, CAN I DO MY INTERNSHIP AT MY COMPANY?

Yes, if your job is directly related to your training. However, your company must be informed of this through a dedicated agreement that is different from an internship agreement.

MORE INFORMATION

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL CAMPUS?

It’s a digital environment that is part of the teaching platform:

  • A space for classes, discussions and exchanges between students, teachers and administrative staff,
  • Transmission of information relating to the course (exams, internships, etc.)
  • Access point to the university library and forums.

HOW DOES A VIRTUAL CLASSROOM WORK?

A virtual class is made up of 35 students who can discuss and help each other as if they were in a classroom. Each subject is assigned to a dedicated teacher, who can ask questions via a forum dedicated to each “subject” (response within 3 days).

ARE THE COURSES ENTIRELY DISTANCE LEARNING, OR DO I HAVE TO TRAVEL TO MONTPELLIER?

You will have to travel to Montpellier at least twice a year to take the exams (from Licence 1 to Master 1). Duration: one week in January and one week in May. Session 2 make-up exams take place over one week at the end of June.

In Master 2, knowledge is assessed by continuous assessment, so there is no need to travel for session 1 exams. Session 2 make-up exams will take place in Montpellier at the end of June.

In Master 2, there will also be a mandatory “mémoire” presentation. Examination format: either face-to-face in Montpellier, or by Skype. The method of presentation will be discussed with the “mémoire” director assigned to you.

CAN I STUDY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD?

Yes, as long as you have a constant and sufficient Internet connection, and are able to travel 2 times a year to take your exams (except in Master 2, where courses are taught entirely on a continuous assessment basis, except if you have to re-take exams).

WHAT TYPE OF INTERNET CONNECTION IS BEST FOR E-LEARNING?

A high speed connection and a printer are preferable.

WHAT ARE ECTS CREDITS?

These are European credits that make it easier to transfer between European universities. You need 180 ECTS to obtain a Bachelor’s (“Licence”) degree, and a further 120 ECTS to obtain a Master’s degree.

ARE COURSES AVAILABLE IN PAPER FORM?

In most cases, yes, but the method of publication is left to the discretion of the teacher, who may refuse to make them available in a printable version for copyright reasons.

Courses can be downloaded from the teaching platform.

WHEN ARE MY COURSES AVAILABLE?

Courses run for one academic year. You can’t enroll during the year. Courses generally start at the end of September/beginning of October.

AFTER OBTAINING A BAC+2 DIPLOMA, CAN I GO DIRECTLY TO LICENCE 3? AND FROM MASTER 1 TO MASTER 2?

To access :

  • to L3, you need Bac+2
  • to M1, you need Bac+3
  • to M2, you need Bac+4

If you don’t meet these requirements, you can apply for a Validation des Acquis Personnels et Professionnels (VAPP) from the University’s Continuing Education department.

VAPP exempts you from the diploma prerequisites. VAE (“validation des acquis de l’expérience”) validates all or part of the diploma.

Once you’ve obtained your L3 degree, you must apply via the Mon Master website to take part in the selection committee for entry to M1. Once you have completed your M1 in management, you will be admitted directly to the M2 program without selection.

CAN I GET SCHOLARSHIPS?

Scholarship holders can continue to receive their grants, and some funding organizations may also be able to cover the cost of your studies; this should be discussed directly with them, as well as with the CNED in Lyon, which manages our continuing education program.

Students enrolled through the AUF can apply for a study grant. Details can be found on your course page under “Financing”.
